LIGHT OF THE WORLD

 

“Miss Dee Vena Koyya”

“I am Dee Vena Koyya from I. Pangidi, India. My parents have been doing the Lord’s work by faith since 1997. We call ourselves Light of the World Ministry. The Lord has also chosen me to fulfill the Great Commission. Our family searches out areas where no Gospel message has been given, mostly in unreached Tribal Villages. We have been able to plant some churches with God’s help. We are also burdened to reach young people. We visit hostels, hospitals, colleges, homes, and even offices. We use videos, when we can, as so many of the people are illiterate. They can understand much better what is visually seen and heard by watching media. We rent TV and VCR, when we can, and hire transportation to visit the villages. We were told you might help our cause. Soon, we will start our Vacation Bible School and Summer Youth Camp programs with audiovisuals shown every evening. So many lost souls come to God through visual media ministry.”

This letter of May 24, 2003 was quickly answered. Although it does take time to establish a foundation of information, correspondence helps initiate a new relationship. Soon, we have a new ministry friendship.

"Media Ministry Underway"

“Dear brother, I received your kind and wonderful letter of encouragement. We are all praising the Lord for this great new work among us. We have been laboring now 12 years, faithfully praying that some ministry would come beside us and encourage us. We believe thousands of people can hear the Gospel through the visual way. Many people in India think Jesus Christ is only the God of America. Through Media Ministry they can see how God truly loves us through Jesus. This is now a turning point for Light of the World Ministry.”

“First please send me your Torch Kit. It will be helpful in remote Tribal Areas to reach adults, youth groups, and children. We’ve been struggling to rent other equipment. Now through your kind cooperation and prayer, this Torch Kit will be a blessing to save many lost souls.”

On her first Report she shared, “Our team has been able to use the blessed Torch Kit in the remote areas. It is very useful for carrying the Gospel to unreached people. We explain the stories in our Telugu Language, and the people clearly understand. The result of our first outreach is that some Hindu idol worshipers have now come to sit at the feet of Jesus. As proof most of them took baptism. We hope to start a church soon!”
 

"Traveling the back roads of India"

Later we began to add videos to her ministry. She also joined our Prayer Team for the proposed 2006 Telugu Language Recording Project. “Recently, we visited a Leprosy Colony and conducted meetings. Two new believers resulted and have not only witnessed Christ but have taken baptism. God is now using both video and Torch Kit Ministry to impact hearts for Christ.”

Video tapes were replaced with video disks and Telugu Language Films on disk took precedence in ongoing video ministry. Another solid ministry established, and a new team of AVangelists were joyfully serving the Lord. So far we have received Reports, listing 284 Media Events, shown to 17, 557 viewers with 344 salvation decisions for Christ. God is faithfully blessing Light of the World Ministry run by Miss Dee Vena Koyya, her parents, and a small group of volunteers. Please remember them in prayer, won’t you?

 


 
 
VIETNAM UPDATE

We have now received approval for HUDSON TAYLOR, the 2nd Vietnamese Language edit and a master duplication disk for this film will join PILGRIM’S PROGRESS in the hands of the Committee in Vietnam in August. They are currently previewing the children’s story, SPACE SHUTTLE JOURNEY, while on the editing table work continues on the teenage film, STEP OVER THE EDGE. Please pray for the initial distribution plans for these new Vietnamese videos and for the successful completion of the editing process here at our studio.

 


 

 

CYCLONE NARIS MYANMAR AID

Thank you to each of you who contributed towards Cyclone Restoration Needs in the country of Myanmar. Our trusted friend, Pastor Myint Nwe, has received all of the funds that we have collected and faithfully helped equip dozens of people, assisting in the re-building of their homes. With so many of the afflicted homes, requiring the replacement of thatched roofs and even thatched wall material, the cost of re-building a home can be rather inexpensive by American standards. Still very expensive by Third World measures.

ARABIC LANGUAGE VIDEO DISKS

Special Project Opportunity
Several years ago, InterComm had the opportunity to partner with SAT-7, a Satellite TV ministry, operating in the Middle East. They broadcast in Arabic, Farsi, and other languages. Satellite dishes are a common site on homes in this region. SAT-7 lip sync dubbed and/or sub-titled many of the Ken Anderson Films/InterComm titles for broadcast purposes. InterComm plans to further this effort of equipping National Leaders, who minister in the Arabic Language, with video disk copies of SAT-7's work. SAT-7 very generously supplied InterComm with free copy masters for this purpose. Laboratory and duplication for 15 titles will be approximately $3,750. $250 FOR 1 TITLE!

The Malayalam and Kannada versions of JOURNEY TO THE SKY will likewise be shown in each and every district of Kerala and Karanatka States from this time onward. The coordinators and volunteers of My Hope, India, will be using this at various levels through their ministry, and we are working with churches and mission agencies to show this film all over the country. HEARTBEAT

“Have you met any thieves lately, Ken?” The question startled me.

It came from a missionary with whom we were working with plans for an evangelistic film in Madagascar. “I meet so many Christians who are thieves,” he continued. “They refuse to use their talents to the fullest for God’s glory. They live in affluence, just people for whom the scant years here on earth are the only reality they know. They may tithe, forgetting that the Bible says tithes and offerings.”

We had a stimulating discussion.

Strange, isn’t it, how we relegate certain “sins” to given categories. James 2:10 sets that forever at test. The fact is that we are all “thieves” withholding so much from the Lord that is rightfully His. I sometimes think of life as a total entity in which we struggle to attain that which can never be accomplished simply because we are human and flesh.

Met any thieves, lately? I had to admit that I had. It was me!
